But after talking to lots of women over the past four years, exactly NONE of them ever mentioned missing unwanted male attention. Did men make that story up? ? I wonder.

Ohhh, that is where the rage in middle age comes from? Because many older women are steaming with fury. ? And that’s really not without reason.

Looking at most women’s lives, they did more and were paid less. Then there’s the emotional and domestic labor, and most women seized more responsibility for children than their partners. No wonder they get frustrated. And then they get to around the age of 50 and think, “F**k this, NO more.” So midlife rage is the logical consequence of too much invisibility or lack of equality as an individual and professional.

But how do you protect your brand? How do you keep performing at your best? I notice that I struggle with taking care of myself. I find that I am not as quick as I was 10 years ago, that I can handle less, and that I have less energy. I find this difficult. I sometimes talk about this with the community, and many women recognize what I write about, but there are also women who respond that 48/49 is too young to start feeling “a bit older.” And that throws me off balance. Maybe there’s something wrong with me.
