People often ask me, “How did you grow so big?” Well, most of the time, it happens when a post or video goes “viral.” That means thousands of people suddenly see your content—people who normally wouldn’t, who don’t follow you, and who, let’s be honest, have absolutely no clue what you’re doing, saying, or trying to achieve.

Recently, one of my videos went viral on another platform. And oh, the *constructive criticism* that came rolling in… always a joy. 😆

And to wrap it up, let me just say: And she gave no fox, not even one. 😉

Going viral isn’t always fun. I much prefer my own women’s community here, where (almost) everyone is kind.

And today, I just want to share one thing with you. And I hope you’ll find it save-worthy to remember and repeat every single day.

Go to the nearest mirror. Look yourself in the eyes. Say: “I am bloody gorgeous and absolutely one of a kind” out loud to yourself and believe it.

My name is Denise, and this is my understory.

I can never write enough about how uniquely different we all are. We each have our own story, our own genes, our own way of living, our own values, and beliefs. You can never judge someone based on their appearance because you never truly know what’s behind it. And in reality, the same goes for someone’s inner self. The way people react—towards me, for example, here on Instagram—often has little to do with me and everything to do with themselves.

I wish I had realized that sooner in my life. It would have saved me from caring so much about what others thought of me.

And here I am, standing in my underwear for this wonderful #NothingButtPerfect campaign for Understatement Underwear, feeling absolutely no urge to suck in my stomach or push my hips back. It doesn’t even cross my mind to add padding to my bra to make my breasts look bigger, rounder, or more symmetrical. It is what it is—this is my body. Partly genetics (thank you, Mom and Dad), partly lifestyle.

And no, it’s not that I don’t care about how I look—I’m actually quite vain. I take care of myself and prioritize my health. That’s where my focus lies: being as healthy as possible. Beyond that, I’m simply grateful for this body.

We are all nothing butt perfect.

It’s the little things... Waking up to the quiet comfort of home, slipping into your most comfortable and favorite clothes, that first, slow sip of morning choco (or coffee 😉), the gentle sound of birds greeting the day, and the way each morning offers a fresh start—no matter what yesterday held.

It’s these simple, beautiful moments that carry us through life’s ups and downs. May you always find joy in the small things, embrace gratitude in every season, and remember—there’s so much to appreciate, especially the little things.

A well-loved pair of jeans (Zara last season), classic loafers (Zara last year), the perfect T-shirt, and a timeless jacket (AndBloom). It took time to get the fit of this basic T-shirt just right, but now that it’s here, I couldn’t be happier—or prouder. Before I started this account, I had no idea just how much work, time, and energy goes into creating content. And I come from the media world! Preparing, shooting, and editing a fashion editorial was always a huge effort, but this… this is something else.

And all for a few views each day—most from people who never even tap “like.”

That’s why I make it a point to scroll through my feed every day and show some love to all the amazing women posting beautiful content. I thought it would be fun to explore the reason behind my (sometimes with certain things) indecisiveness, so I looked up my ascendant sign in astrology. I was born on July 17th, and my ascendant is Libra.

That got me wondering—do Libras struggle with making decisions? Weighing all the options, so to speak? Based on some research I did, it seems they do.

It’s so easy to share the picture-perfect, fun side of life. But time and time again, I’ve realized that authenticity always wins—and that perfection? It’s a myth. No marriage, no relationship is flawless. Those who make it look effortlessly perfect all the time? Either they’re fooling themselves, or… well, let’s just say I have my doubts. 😂

In the Boomkens-Uipkes household, boredom simply isn’t in our vocabulary. Just when we think we’re sailing along smoothly, the tide shifts, and suddenly, we’re navigating a full-blown storm. But hey, we’ve mastered the art of weathering rough waters. Our strategy? Count to 1,000—sometimes together, sometimes apart—and somehow, we always find our way back to calmer seas.

No, our marriage isn’t a dreamy, rose-colored fairy tale. Yes, we bicker (a lot). I challenge him, he challenges me. And yet, through every twist and turn, we keep discovering new paths we both want to explore. I admire him, he admires me. I drive him crazy, he does the same to me—and somehow, that’s the magic of us.

Out of all the men in the world, I chose him (and he chose me). And one of the biggest reasons? I knew life with him would never be boring. And guess what? I was absolutely right. 😅

And as the cherry on top, we have the most incredible 9-year-old son, bursting with his own beautiful, big personality—plus, let’s not forget the sweetest dog on earth, Socks. I truly couldn’t have wished for a more perfect little family.
