After years in the luxury fashion industry, India witnessed two profound challenges: the confidence struggles many women face in what they wear and the devastating impact of fast fashion on our planet. With a deep desire to make a difference, she began crafting one-of-a-kind garments that nurture both the wearer and Mother Earth.

At her home studio in picturesque Cornwall, UK, India handcrafts every piece with care and intention. Her signature robes—inspired by the elegance of English Regency florals and the precision of Japanese garment construction—are made exclusively from mid-century vintage and reclaimed fabrics. These stunning heritage materials, saved from going to landfill, transform into timeless kimono-style robes that envelop you in a comforting, sustainable hug.

Whether you’re brewing your morning cuppa, taking a woodland stroll, or heading out for dinner with friends, an ILH Handcrafted robe is designed to be your constant companion. Each garment is a testament to India’s mission: creating beauty that uplifts the spirit while protecting the planet.

But how do you protect your brand? How do you keep performing at your best? I notice that I struggle with taking care of myself. I find that I am not as quick as I was 10 years ago, that I can handle less, and that I have less energy. I find this difficult. I sometimes talk about this with the community, and many women recognize what I write about, but there are also women who respond that 48/49 is too young to start feeling “a bit older.” And that throws me off balance. Maybe there’s something wrong with me.
