What do you do for work?

Currently I’m “in between jobs” as they say.

Decided to leave ’cause life is too short to stay when you’re not really happy with what you’re doing…..

Not sure about my next step but taking the summer to find out.

I’m having rather a hard time choosing because there’s such a lot of interesting and beautiful things and topics. Besides that, you’re never too old to learn new things or have a new adventure. So perhaps it’s a good idea to take up a new study or an artclass.

Tell us something surprising about yourself.

Oh…..?? well let me think….perhaps the fact that I’m ambidexter? Meaning being both left- and righthanded. Can do most things just fine with my left as well as with my right hand. Remember writing sentences on the blackboard at school simultaniously with both hands. Left hand writing the exact same words at the same time but as in a mirror image…..

Greatest new discovery?

Outside is free! It may be a worn out hashtag from Instagram but by going outside and spend an hour or two in a more natural environment every day you can truly experience the healing qualities of nature.

And, let’s not forget how easy life can be when you decide not to care much of what other people may think. Not so much a new discovery as well as a pretty good rule to live by.

Biggest Risk you’ve ever taken?

Most recently quitting my job. Pretty big step but it just didn’t feel right anymore.

And more in the big scheme of things…having kids I think. That certainly can feel as if you’ll never be able to be totally carefree. Funny enough it doesn’t change much. Even now that they’re older and two of the three living and studying elsewhere…. I can still obsess with what they eat, drink etc. or whether they sleep enough… (I know I shouldn’t, keep telling myself to “let it go!” ?)

Lucky me, they’re doing just fine and have turned out to be really nice people. Love them with all my heart! ❤

Can you describe your fantasy version of your older self?

No problem picturing myself playing the piano, painting, dancing, running, cycling and enjoying the life outside. I’m sure I’ll always /still love to take long walks in the woods and hope that by that time will be having a dog again. (Or two, for that matter, haha.) Love to go see exhibitions and movies with friends. Enjoy our book club so very much and sincerely hope we’ll keep having our meetings downtown every six weeks or so, having a good time laughing and talking about our books and everything happening in our own lifes….

And of course at night we’ll cook a lovely meal together and enjoy life with friends and family.

What is your favorite room in your house and why?

The kitchen, by far. It’s super cosy and besides cooking, I love to read there and drink coffee alone or with friends.

What’s coming up that you’re most excited about?

Our next trip abroad. Not sure yet but thinking of going to Tel Aviv in October.

What makes you happy?

To see everyone I love happy and healthy. You know, that certain moment, sometimes during a holiday or at a party or so, that you feel so connected and realise how lucky you are with all your loved ones close.

How old are you?

I’m 53 years old. But truly consider age as just a number. Isn’t it all about the ability to stay curious, be amazed every now and then and keeping an open mind?
