My beautiful friend Dayenne (45) spend the last eight months fighting stage 4 breast cancer.

As you can imagine, the news about the cancer turned her world upside down, it came entirely out of the blue, so unexpected. What was supposed to be a random doctor visit changed into a medical roller coaster of physical and mental examinations, the immediate start of one of the most brutal chemotherapy treatments available, followed by breast surgery and a radiation procedure that she finished last Friday.

Her tumors, the ones in her breast, but, maybe even more critical, the metastases to the lymph are gone, HOORAY, HOORAY, HOORAY!

After posting multiple portraits of Dayenne on my Instagram (thank you all again for all the positive feedback, vibes, love, and support on the pictures. We totally believe it also helped her to win this battle), I am so proud to publish this “after cancer portrait” we made last week. Don’t you love her smile? She fought, she won, and she is cancer free.

What do you do for work?

I’m a fashion stylist and entrepreneur.

Tell us something surprising about yourself.

I’m afraid of cats and I love to dance.

Last google search?

Bulletproof MCT olie for my Keto coffee.

Greatest new discovery?

That I have more power in me than I thought and that a positive mind and belief can conquer all.

What advice would you give your 20-year-old self?

Don’t doubt yourself so much and trust your gut feeling.

"I’m 45 and life is just starting! Live everyday to the fullest and make it count!"

Can you describe your fantasy version of your older self?

When I am old I will be a bit of Michelle Obama mixed with Anna Wintour and Missy Elliott. 🙂

What is your favorite room in your house and why?

That would be my kitchen… I love sitting on top of the counter and look out of the window. I think it’s the light that comes in from there that I love so much.

Goal for the next 12 months?

The next 12 months I will continue to work on getting stronger. I want to be a better and healthier

version of myself, myself before my cancer. After this past year I know I will never be the

same woman again, but I will work on being better. I will to go where I need to go and I will shine like never before!

What makes you happy?

That’s a good question! I don’t have only one answer for that. Happiness for me is in the small things, like music, the beach, going out with friends, my kids, my job, vacation, baby’s (I love baby’s). And the funny faces Dee (that would be me…) makes. 🙂

How old are you?

Old? What do you mean? I’m not old! 🙂

I’m 45 and life is just starting! Live everyday to the fullest and make it count! My life motto, especially after the past year. Go for what you want and don’t let anyone tell you can’t because of your age or whatever.
