Tell Us About Yourself?
Born in 1967 to a French mom and a Dutch father, I grew up between France and Belgium. I have been in the modeling industry since 1985; I was only 17 and fresh out of school… I lived in New York for 17 years before moving back to Belgium in 2003. I am the incredibly proud
mom of Florian, who just turned 15 and a newlywed since July 2019.
What would you say is the strangest thing about becoming older?
I don’t think there’s anything strange about it! It’s just a natural continuation of life, and your only choice, in my opinion, is to fully embrace it.

You are a professional fashion model. Can you tell us about your career as a model?
I started this crazy but fantastic job in 1985. It all went swift for me, working with big photographers like Bruce Weber, big campaigns, and magazines within a few months… The ’80s were terrific times; there was a lot less pressure as social networks and all… I moved to NYC, where work was more controlled but continued working worldwide. Then, September 11 happened, I was home in NYC that day, and my priorities changed. I wanted to be closer to my family, so I moved to Belgium in 2003. After having my son in 2006, I did quit working for about six years. I just wanted to be a mom. At age 53, I am still amazed to have the chance to work; I love my job, travel, and have fun!
What is, according to you, the best part of getting older?
Confidence!
And the worst?
Confidence! LOL. Seeing time passing by soooooo fast and wondering if I’ll have the time to do all the things I still want to do.

What kind of advice would you give your younger self?
Be your own best friend! You always find kind words for others; find them for yourself! It took me quite some time to find them…
Do you have any regrets?
I genuinely try not to! I believe having regrets forces you to look back when your life is in front of you. Give your best within the present; it’s ok if you fail, but keep moving forward.

Any favorite beauty product we should know of?
My eyelashes curler ? I hardly wear makeup but having just mascara makes me feel good!
What’s your age, and how old do you feel?
I am 53. The second part of the question is tricky… it all depends on what time of the day it is and what I have done throughout that day. Put me in a go-kart with the kids, and I’ll feel 20 years old. Get me out the go-kart, and I’ll feel like … well, too old. ?
