Robina

Can you describe your fantasy version of your older self?

My family, friends and I have our own Not-So-Tiny-Houses built on a plot of land where we share a vegetable garden, a kitchen where we bake our daily bread, with a large pantry for all pickled vegetables and fruit and a place to hang out with lots of cats and dogs running around. Oh yes, a studio to make my doll’s house! Sounds ideal, doesn’t it? This could be the Biggest Risk I’ll take, knowing that I like my space, never even had a tiny garden accept plants on the balcony and deal with a spider phobia.

Tell us something surprising about yourself.

I’ve always thought that an office job isn’t for me, but the opposite is true! I often read 5 books at the same time and I don’t mix up the stories. I love to collect Farrow & Ball paint sample pots and I am fascinated by miniature art and doll’s houses. Wish to make one myself from scratch. The paint collection might come in handy.

Last google search?

Spider catcher. The other day I had a big one crawling over my bed. I know it is ridiculous, but they scare the shit out of me!

Greatest new discovery?

Listening to podcasts. Good distraction during house cleaning and fitness.

Biggest Risk you’ve ever taken?

I am not such a Big Risk taker. Although, when I was 18 I left my parents’ house to work in a hotel in the mountains of Switzerland. For someone who was pretty shy at the time and would rather be sitting on the couch eating potato chips it was very adventurous. In the end, I stayed away for three years.

What do you do for work?

I’ve been working as a model since the eighties and I don’t have any plans to quit. I also work as an administrative assistant at the Erasmus University. Since years I volunteer at “Leeszaal Rotterdam West”, a hangout place with good coffee and the best collection of free books.

What is your favourite room in your house and why?

My living room because I redecorated it with a new couch and guess what! with F & B paint on the walls.

What’s coming up that you’re most excited about?

Photoshoot for Charlotte Tilbury in London.

What makes you happy?

Spending time with friends and family, lots of coffee in the morning with the daily news on my mobile phone, the scent of lime trees.

How old are you?

58
