POEMET is a new print and textile brand by Michal Lifshitz, a passionate designer and art-lover.
For more than ten years Michal has been a graphic designer, designing mainly print and branding projects. She always had a dream to design and establish a brand of her own that will enable her to be as creative as can be. POEMET is a symbiotic brand that brings together her love for the graphic, fashion & textile design fields.
POEMET’s motto is ‘Your Life’s Experiences are Poetry in Motion’ – followed by the belief that our experiences are what makes us interesting and unique; That from every life event one should learn and try to see the beauty or look for the rainbow that comes after the rain.
The name POEMET is inspired by a Hebrew word that means ‘The Heartbeat of a woman’. The designs echo Michal’s heartbeat and her perception that “No matter what life will bring the heart will continue beating, ever changing and never still”.
POEMET’s graphic and bold designs are an expression and reaction to a few life changing events Michal had experienced. The designs portray a graphic interpretation of evolutionary processes in the human body and nature. Looking into microscopic cells, textures, and shapes, with an attempt to capture the essence of the rise and fall movements, flow and growth in a designer’s eye and mind.
Michal’s first collection of silk scarves, titled “In the Beginning”, is an exploration of abstract patterns and shapes, using distinctive colour combinations that are designed to look different in every composition worn. The designs are intended to appear as almost alive and moving, as if living organisms.
POEMET is a slow fashion brand. The computer and hand illustrated patterns are manufactured in small quantities on 100% premium silk. The scarves are digitally printed and sewn in the United Kingdom. Each scarf is made and packaged with full attention to every small detail.
POEMET’s scarves are designed to be chic and artful, classic and elegant at the same time. They can be worn in many different ways and designed to last a lifetime.
