Nadina Fornara

This beautiful Argentinian woman stood before my lens in Berlin while staying there in August. Nadina recently moved from Barcelona to Berlin but is originally from Argentina.

Tell us something surprising about yourself.

When I was 18 years old and had been with my partner only for a few months, I liked him so much that I thought life together would be very nice, so I decided to be frank from the beginning and I warned him: it is very likely that I will never want to have children. We have been together for 22 years.

You are from Argentina and have recently moved to Berlin; why Berlin?
I have lived for the last 7 years in Barcelona, a city that I love, and it has given me a lot, but despite that, my husband and I wanted a change, to be in a broader and greener city. Three years ago we got to know Berlin and since then we have come many times to stay for days, even weeks, and we knew that this was the city for us. Now we are just moved, and we will know, in time, if we are right or not. Beyond how interesting the city is to me on an aesthetic level (I like its modern-artistic-natural mix and am a bit decadent), I appreciate the number of parks and trees there the most. Sometimes I need that moment of being surrounded by green, immersing myself in it, and here I have it very within reach without giving up all the rest of what living in a city implies.

What’s the Biggest Risk You’ve Ever Taken?

After leaving Buenos Aires and moving to Barcelona, I already had an armed and quite good life (although this is not entirely true because I did not feel comfortable with the political situation in the country).

What Do You Do for Work?

I write about fashion and travel. I am currently working on a project about Barcelona, a sort of guide to show the city, it’s peculiarities, and the people who live in it.

What do you do for play?

Go for a walk every day or, a new fav thing acquired now that I live in Berlin, go for a long bike ride. I should add that I also really enjoy eating and sharing my walks on Instagram.

What are you most excited about this fall?

I want to discover how the fall is in this new city for me and walk among the crisp and colorful leaves.

What Would You Tweet to Your Younger Self?
You are beautiful. Stop pulling yourself down, don’t take your frustrations out on others, and have more fun.

Latest Google search?

Beautiful baskets for bicycles.

If You Had a Warning Label, What Would It Be?

She may seem a little cold, but it has alternative ways of showing that it loves you.

How old are you and how old do you feel?
I am forty years old, and although I cannot believe how old I am because life has passed me very quickly, I like to feel my age. In fact, I like my age and who I am now.
