Tell us about yourself?
I am a Mexican, 50-year-old woman in a constant state of wanderlust. I live in the USA but would rather live in Italy. I am a wife and a mother to three daughters from whom I’ve learned so much. I could write a book just on that. I am “todo terreno” (all-terrain), meaning I get it done, I find a way, and seem to be in a constant forward state even when I don’t mean to. It’s a family trait that runs in the women of the family. It’s both a blessing and a curse.
Aside from that, I’ve never enjoyed anything that’s not the “natural” me.

Tell us more about your aging journey?
I have almost always been comfortable in my own skin. I haven’t always loved my naturally curly hair. It is a product of growing up on bristle brushes, no conditioner, and everyone’s dislike of its irreverent frizzy nature.
Aside from that, I’ve never enjoyed anything that’s not the “natural” me. Fake anything feels, well, artificial, and that has made my aging journey so much easier to embrace.
What is your message to women worldwide?
C’mon now, Dee! That is one LOADED question!
I’ll bring it down to this: YOU know. You hold the answers to the things that consume you. “Why do I do this?.”Why am I like this?.” “What should I do?.” Those are all questions we hold the answer to. So my message to all women is: Pay attention to your own inner voice.
Learn to listen to it. Whatever is bothering you, put your phone down right now and instead write it out, walk it out, bathe it out… Whatever brings you back to self, DO IT; the answers, much like honey slowly dripping from a honeycomb, are waiting on you to be released.
What’s the best/worst part of getting older for you?
The inherent wisdom gifted by time. The constant self-awareness and the profound realization that the more self-aware I am, the closer I get to inhabiting and living in my true essence. It’s so freaking liberating!
I could do without the lower back arthritis and how my face literally “melts” like wax if I don’t get enough sleep….
What’s your fantasy version of your older self?
I’m living in Italy, surrounded by mountains and water. I’m alone. I’m creating, writing, full of travel, great food, and beautiful connections to friends and family.
If you could write a letter to your younger self, what would you write?
This experience awakened something in me. I had a long vivid, and enlightening dream the night after my photoshoot. The next day, I wrote this:
Of course, you have a purpose! In fact, you have many, some of which you have fulfilled already. As for your “highest” purpose, you’re not to know just yet what that is. Your job is now only to learn (at times from painful first-hand experience) and listen inwards – to your body, soul, and intuition.
To make room for Life to do what it does best: teach, prepare you. There’s tremendous risk in all the rushing, pushing, and shoving into making things happen that are not yet meant to happen.
It all distracts you from the learning, the growing, and ultimately, the thriving. It takes away the joy of living in the moment. It replaces learning and growing with anxiety, anger, resentment, and even self-destruction.
In all, you are where you’re supposed to be and who you’re supposed to be.
Trust
Learn
Listen
Seek joy
And
Breathe
Breathe
Breathe
P.S. Don’t forget the things that give you Life and joy, be intentful about keeping those alive. Live with intent as you explore fun; if you don’t know how to find a mentor that will help you do that. You want to be a dancer, find a mentor. You want to travel, find a mentor. You want to play the piano, find a mentor. Don’t try to figure it out on your own; ask for help, guidance, counsel.
What do you do for work?
I have had a writer locked inside me, yearning to write on walls since childhood. I’ll be publishing a children’s book series starting in December, but my tour-de-force has yet to be written. It’s slowly freeing itself of my past unknown beliefs, patiently waiting as I seep into awareness, and all aspects of my Life’s experiences converge.
For now, I have a P.R./Communications business with my husband, but that is the profession Life has chosen for me. I chose Life Coaching so I could work from anywhere in the world (I intend to exit the U.S. as soon as possible). We’ll see where all of the above takes me!
Remember, we don’t have a SINGLE life purpose; it’s totally alright to be many things and do many things. We’re human! We’re multifaceted, and Life gives us many opportunities to show what we can offer.
Favorite thing to do when no one is around?
Eat something amazing (usually Thai or Indian) and watch a show or a movie, all from my bed.
Best new discovery?
I say new, but I’m really speaking of the last couple of years. I’ve always yearned to travel the world. But it wasn’t until my first trip overseas two years ago (only TWO years ago, agh!) that I realized what that yearning truly meant. It literally LIT me up from within in a very unexpected way!
Also, any “Did you know?” hack that comes up on my feed LOL!
What is your age, and how old do you feel?
I’m 50 and feel like 50, but in a good way. I like the wisdom, the growth, the freedom of not giving a shit.
