I can hardly describe how much I enjoyed it when Annie, then 100 years old, consented to a portrait for my book.
Annie has now turned 102. Congratulations, Annie, you are an inspiration for many! ❤️
The book “The art of aging unapologetically” was launched one year ago.
Annie (102): I was born on September 27, 1920, and I hope to stay healthy and turn 101. Unfortunately, I lost a lot of my physical strength in the latest years and my sight.
I was married to Arnold, and I still remember my wedding day as if it was yesterday. It was freezing on February 11, and my wedding flowers were frozen in no time. Sadly, my husband died on April 4, 1974, and I have been by myself ever since. Luckily I have six wonderful sons and 11 grandchildren that take care of me and visit very often.
I love being with other people and drinking a glass of white wine now and then. My life was not always easy; I raised six children without having money. But with a positive outlook on life and a smile, everything works out fine. That’s been my spirit and life’s motto. Life taught me that it always goes differently than you eventually thought it would go, so don’t worry too much.
