Fissa by VI*Sa: Art and Design in a Home-like Setting

The former Anton Heyboer gallery showcasing an Abundance of objects from Victor & Sandra at Fissa by Vi*Sa.

In an era where art and collectible shows often focus more on the gallery than the artists, this event offers a refreshing alternative.

Moving away from sterile white walls and overwhelming exhibitions that leave visitors feeling disconnected, this gallery emphasizes the importance of intimacy and genuine connections. Inspired by the salons of the past, where artists opened their homes or galleries for meaningful discussions, this event promises a revitalizing experience.

The philosophy behind the gallery is simple: art should be an immersive experience, fostering real connections between creators and admirers. In today’s world of digital transactions and online galleries, there’s a strong desire to bring back the magic of physical interaction and personal connection. This show is more than just an exhibition; it’s a celebration for both the artists and the visitors. The charming, old space of Anton Heyboer provides the perfect backdrop for a “cabinet of curiosities” filled with unique objects, rather than a conventional, sterile setup.

Join us for an unforgettable experience where art is alive and connections are real.

The participating artists fully embrace this ethos. Drawing inspiration from magazines like Apartamento, Elephant, and The Selby, the exhibition celebrates authenticity and an abundance of stories and objects. This event is not about mass-produced art or design sales; each piece is handmade, unique, and tells its own story.

The show will feature new work by artists Victor and Sandra, including a creative piece made of wood, glass, and textiles. Additionally, artists like Natasja and Alfhird will present their ceramic and textile elements, adding to the diverse mix. The exhibition will also include collectible fashion pieces, exploring the intersection of clothing and art.

Sandra creates art pieces from glass and textiles, inspired by natural forms and using available materials. Her work transforms emotions into wall hangings and objects, inviting viewers to explore her fascination with human-nature connections. Often anthropomorphic or abstract, each piece tells a unique story and highlights our interactions with nature and ourselves. Her vibrant creations encourage deeper engagement, revealing new details and changing the more you look, reflecting the ever-changing nature of life.

Victor creates detailed graphic art and collectible pieces that reflect his emotional connections with people and the world. With a background in Rietveld and fashion, he infuses his personal experiences into his work. Distinctive brushstrokes and archaic shapes characterize his intuitive and narrative drawings, paintings, and objects. These handmade pieces, blending art and design, form a unique collection as a gift to the viewer.

This community originated from my love for photography, fashion, lifestyle, and consciousness. After I turned 40 I started to miss inspiring websites with coolness and authenticity towards aging.
