Another amazing “bloomer” for my project. This time Daan, a real “natural beauty” with strawberry blond hair, freckles, and a very down-to-earth attitude towards life.
She entered my studio with a big, open smile on her face that remained there during the whole time we worked together. Besides making a portrait of this cheerful beauty I also asked her some questions:
What Do You Do for Work?
I work independently as a holistic skin & wellness specialist.
What do you do for play?
I have a lot of interests…. I love the beach and play in the ocean on a bodyboard, yoga, horseback riding and go out to enjoy healthy sustainable food.
What’s your fantasy version of your older self?
I will still be young at heart and free of mind with wishes, dreams and a good energetic health. And travel the world to explore other cultures with my loved ones.
What are you most excited about this fall?
This fall (2019) I will be an Ayurvedic Master as I travel to Sicily in September for an intensive course. With the extra knowledge and skills, I can provide my clients and future clients with beautiful new treatments.
What are you Most Proud Of?
That I am despite a lot of challenges in my life since I was little (private life as well as a lot of health issues) I am still positive and due to these obstacles, I have grown personally and spiritually. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger! My work nowadays is a result of all the storms and I am blessed that I work with my heart and help other people on their way to good health, inner peace, and a glowing skin.
What Are You Most Ashamed Of?
I am not ashamed of anything as I believe to see an obstacle in life as an opportunity to grow and making mistakes is part of life and necessary to grow. So if I look back on my life now I see a lot of struggle, but nothing to be ashamed for as I have learned from the shitty things.
What Do you Regret Most?
The same answer as ashamed of…..no regrets…learned my lessons.
If You Had a Warning Label, What Would It Be?
Handle with care! I mean respect and honesty is necessary if you want to be around me. I am allergic to dishonesty!
What would you say is the strangest thing about becoming an older woman?
I really can’t tell….I still feel as young and vital as I was in my early 30’s. My body is still the same, gained a few more lines/wrinkles. When I was younger, I already had my consciousness and didn’t live a fast and fancy life. I choose more me nowadays without feeling bad about it.
How old are you?
I am 48.
