When visiting Paris, it is impossible to leave without a portrait of Caroline. This beautiful French woman has an Instagram account that I have followed for quite a while now.
Her feed exudes a typical French feel of sex appeal and freedom, and she proves with her appearance that beauty is ageless. What inspires me most is her self-acceptance and self-love, which, in my opinion, are justified. Therefore, I was delighted to portray her in Paris because she inspires many of you too. It is not very often that I ask a woman to pose in a bathing suit. Caroline was the perfect person to apply for this. To support the #bodypositive movement is part of her mission.
Tell us about yourself:
I am a French woman living by myself in a suburb of Paris. I have 2 children who are fabulous grown-ups now, and I am so proud and happy to be their mother. Now I am waiting to become a grandmother. 🙂
I have always been an openminded woman. I love to look around and see what’s happening in the world to get involved.
My life has been with ups and downs, but I only try to remember the good moments of my life. I guess that makes me a positive person. I am an Aries, which is a firm Zodiac sign. I keep going until I get what I want, even though I have to go through a wall. When I fall, I get up again!
My dream is to change the course of my life and move to a country where I can open my windows and see the ocean every day. I hope I will manage to do so within 2 years when I will retire.
What Do You Do for Work?
For the past 3 years, I have been reinventing my life. Society didn’t want me anymore as I lost my job. It was as if I didn’t exist as a working woman anymore… So I decided to create my blog and start my Instagram account. I had been thinking about starting that for a while, something for myself, and to inspire other women.
After I lost my job, I didn’t know where I was going or what I was going to do. I did feel powerful vibrations guiding me into a certain direction; it was the first time in my life I felt such energy.
What would you say is the worst thing about becoming an older woman?
There is one sentence that I hear a lot and really dislike: “You must have been beautiful when you were young.”
Being beautiful is not a question of age or getting older. A woman is beautiful at every stage of her life, it has nothing to do with age. I love to see the story of a woman on her face. Our wrinkles tell the most beautiful tales about our past.
What would you say is the best thing about becoming an older woman?
FREEDOM! Freedom is my special word. My freedom is my own, which is priceless. I no longer care what other people think about me; I feel free and alive! I know who I am, what I did, and what I am supposed to do with my life!
You are a free soul on Instagram. Were you always that open and confident?
I should say yes, I have always been very confident. When my sisters and I were little, our parents gave us many compliments. They always told us we were the prettiest. I think that helps a lot in building your confidence as a child. I am not sure if it works this way for everybody, it did for me. You should ask my sisters if they have experienced it that way and are self-confident. But my youth has certainly shaped me, and it gives me more confidence year after year. I am grateful to my parents for this.
If you could tweet something to your younger self, what would you say?
Don’t change anything about yourself, and don’t regret anything. Life forms you into the woman you are supposed to become. I was a little “rock & roll” when I was younger. Always a bit different from the other women around me, also in my fashion style. I did things in life as I wanted to do them. Therefore I think I always had this freedom inside me!
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
My 2 kids, of course. I am very proud of the adults they became today.
The second thing I am proud of is what I am doing with my life right now. I love to help and inspire women, as you are doing Dee, but in another way. With my Instagram account and blog, I help some of them to reconnect with themselves. It’s lovely to teach women about self-love!
I know it isn’t easy for a lot of women to love themselves, and I would like to show all women they can and should. With my work, I want to encourage them to do what they desire to do, even after 50, and be visible.
My mission is to break the invisibility of women over 50. I am supporting the body-positive and diversity movement. I love to empower women. I receive messages full of love from women and men worldwide, and I feel so grateful for that! I wake up every morning with a smile on my face because I live in the moment entirely.
If you could briefly encourage women, what would you say?
Great question! It would be something like: Don’t listen to what they say! But listen to your feelings and your heart!
What’s the one thing you most hope for personally in the coming year?
Falling in love again. 🙂 I live by myself, and I think that by living alone, I don’t live and enjoy my best life. Even though I have my friends, I believe life is better when you are two. I love being in love with somebody, but I prefer to be alone if it’s not “mister right.” I want the right partner to make me feel like a woman in love. It sounds so romantic, right? I guess I am a passionate feminist.
What is your age, and how old do you feel?
I am 60 years old, and I am pleased to be. I had my birthday during the lockdown and had no big party. Only my son and his girlfriend, who stayed with me during the lockdown, were there to celebrate with me. I think the number of your age is not that important. Most important is how you feel your body and spirit are developing. I am connected to the universe. I feel very grateful every day to be alive in this crazy world.
