My name is Bianca. Today I can say that proud of my Korean appearance and my Dutch character.
I owe both to the most important women in my life, my mothers. However, I have never met my biological mother in South Korea. For my husband’s work, we lived abroad for 5 years, 1 year in South Korea. An experience that nobody takes away from me anymore. I found it very special to be able to spend time in the country of my origin.
I am also spontaneous, energetic, caring, active, and honest. I am happy with who I am now! Aging is a beautiful thing, provided you can still do everything yourself and are healthy. There are plenty of people who don’t get the opportunity to grow old.
I find it fascinating that your outside ages, but the inside, doesn’t really age. In the past, I didn’t like the fact that I had an Asian appearance; after all, I looked different from the rest. Now I am proud of it. But now I also feel more confident and beautiful than when I was younger. I would love to write my younger self a note and tell her to believe in herself. Follow your heart because that always beats!
I recently turned 50, according to my adoption papers, but unfortunately, my adoption papers are incorrect. Someday I hope to find the answers to my questions. What is my real Korean name? I have 2. And what is my actual date of birth? I have been looking for my family in South Korea since 1996. For a few years now, I no longer celebrate my birthday because my birth date is incorrect. But I celebrate life every day; age is just a number! You are as young or old as you feel.
